Dr. Valentín Asencio is a doctor graduated from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), he completed his training at the Salvador B. Gautier Hospital of the Dominican Institute of Social Security, being Chief Resident in his last year.

He is a member of the Dominican Medical College (CMD), of the Dominican Society of Cardiology (SDC), member of the Society of Cardiologists graduated from the IDSS; Retired Professor of Neuropathology at the Universidad Central del Este (UCE) and Cardiology at UTESA.

Currently coordinator of the Cardiology Department of the San Lorenzo de Los Mina Maternal and Child Center.
