Hand Surgery
Hand surgery is the area of medicine that treats injuries and diseases of the hand, ranging from minor trauma to amputations of part or all. Diseases can be congenital or acquired. Within these, there are diseases of the hand and upper limb and others that are the result of generalized diseases, such as arthritis or osteoarthritis.
Hand surgery is a subspecialty of plastic surgery and orthopedic surgery.
In other words, its specialists must have completed the studies corresponding to these specialties, prior to specific training in hand surgery.
